Tournament Rules
Çukurova Rotary International Tennis Tournament
1. Participation Eligibility & Fees
- The tournament participation fee is 2.000TL ~ €40 per person.
- No extra fees will be charged for courts, lighting, balls, or club facilities.
- The participation fee is fixed for each category.
- Players registered in the singles category may join the doubles category at a discounted rate of 1.000TL ~ €20.
- Participants must join the ITFR (International Tennis Fellowship of Rotarians). Membership to this group is free. For joining: www.itfr.org
- Participants will earn ITFR points according to ITFR rules which is only valid on ITFR tournaments.
- Eligible participants:
- All Rotarians aged 16+ (born in 2010 or earlier)
- Spouses and children of Rotarians
- All Rotaractors, and their spouses and children
- All tennis players 16+
2. Categories & Player Limits
Singles
- Men’s Singles: Group A or Group B
- Women’s Singles: Group A or Group B
- Maximum 32 players per singles category
Doubles
- Men’s Doubles: Single category
- Women’s Doubles: Single category
- Maximum 64 players in the doubles categories
3. Tournament Format
3.1 Elimination Rounds
- All players begin the tournament in the elimination stage.
- Players who lose in the first round will enter the Bonus Draw / Consolation Round.
3.2 Officiating
- Chair umpires will be present for final matches.
- In earlier rounds, disputes that cannot be resolved on court must be reported to the tournament referee.
4. Match Formats
4.1 First and Second Round Matches
- Played as a single 9-game set.
- A result of 10–8 is considered a win.
- At 9–9, a 10-point super tie-break is played.
- At 40–40, the advantage rule applies.
- There can be 2 matches per player in a day.
4.2 Quarter Final and Later Matches
- Played as two sets of 6 games.
- If sets are tied 1–1, the third set is a 10-point super tie-break.
- At 40–40, the advantage rule applies.
4.3 Bonus Draw Matches
- First and Second Round Mathes
- Played as a single 9-game set.
- A result of 10–8 is considered a win.
- At 9–9, a 10-point super tie-break is played.
- At 40–40, the advantage rule applies.
- Quarter Final and Later Matches
- Played as two sets of 6 games.
- If sets are tied 1–1, the third set is a 10-point super tie-break.
- At 40–40, the advantage rule applies.
5. Match Schedule & Walkover Rule
- Matches will start on March 26th and be played between 09:30 and 20:00.
- Players who are not present on court within 15 minutes after the scheduled match time will be recorded as W/O (walkover).
- The scheduling goal is one match per day per player. For the first two rounds, there could be 2 matches in a day. This is also possible for Bonus Draw matches
- Players competing in both singles and doubles may play two matches in one day.
- Depending on the number of participants, schedule density, and any weather-related postponements, some players may be required to play two matches in a single day.
6. Coach Eligibility Rule
- Tennis coaches who are actively giving paid tennis lessons may not participate in our tournament.
- If a player provides false or incomplete information and this is discovered during the tournament, they will be disqualified.
7. Courts
- Tournament courts are clay. Matches can also be performed on hard courts, depending on the tightness of the schedule.
- Considering the weather conditions, matches will be played in open and closed clay courts.
- If it rains, matches can be shifted to closed/baloon hard floor courts too.
8. Health & Player Responsibility
- Participants must not have any medical condition that prevents them from safely engaging in tennis.
- By completing registration, each player acknowledges that they participate at their own responsibility and confirm they are medically fit to play.
9. Player Obligations
- Participants are responsible for following:
- The most up-to-date tournament rules
- The event schedule
- Match fixtures
- Players will not receive separate individual notifications about match times.
